Character Information

•BIOGRAPHY•
AAlbert Heinrich's backstory begins when he's already in his 30's and living in soviet-controlled East Germany. Based on this and through a little math, it's safe to assume that he grew up during the Nazi regime and WWII. He was likely a member of the Jungvolk, a division of the Hitler Youth for 10-14 year olds. His family was also probably very poor, as was most of Germany at the time.

At some point after the war, Albert got engaged to a woman named Hilda and they made plans to escape to the other side of the Berlin Wall sometime around 1964 (date based on when the original Cyborg 009 manga was released), due to the extremely poor conditions in the communist controlled East Berlin. In order to do so, Albert posed as a circus worker and had Hilda hide in the back of the truck. Everything seemed to go smoothly as Hilda wasn't discovered and the forged papers seemed to be in order to the border guard. Unfortunately, Albert started to drive off without his papers and when the guard attempted to flag him down to return them, he assumed they'd been found out and slammed on the gas, careening through the checkpoint and forcing the guards to fire upon the truck. The vehicle spun out of control, crashed, and caught fire. Hilda died in the event, having been shot by the border guards on accident as she hid in the back of the truck. Albert held her as she died, having been riddled with bullets and crash injuries himself so severe that he passed out soon after.

When he came to, Albert was more machine than man. Given the designation "004" Albert found he had been taken and experimented on by the criminal organization Black Ghost. They replaced his right arm with a machine gun, his left with a laser combat knife he can flip out at will, and his upper legs and knees with missile launchers. His entire torso, because of the damage from the crash, was also replaced with cybernetic parts in order to keep him alive. During this time, Albert became incredibly cynical and hopeless. If it weren't for the other two cyborgs created at the same time as he was, he likely would have simply allowed himself to be used for Black Ghost's schemes and looked for an opportunity to die easy, but Jet Link (002) and Francoise Arnoul (003) helped him to regain some of his will to live.

Unfortunately, during a battle exercise, Albert's body began to reject some of the cybernetic implants, causing him extreme pain. Because the technology at the time was not advanced enough and the other 00 series cyborgs were also at risk for rejection, cyborgs 001 through 004 were placed in cryogenic sleep until such a time as the technology advanced enough to repair them.

Flash forward to 2001 and the first four are unfrozen by Doctor Gilmore, formerly the head of the cyborg soldier project who'd worked on them all and had a change of heart while the original four had been in stasis. Since then, five other 00 series cyborgs had been created and Gilmore convinced them all to escape together. Their freedom was hard won however, and the cyborg team remained under constant siege for quite some time before managing to infiltrate the Black Ghost's main facility and do away with what they thought was the organization's leader, Skull.

After Black Ghost's defeat, there are still remnants of the cyborg soldier project to mop up. One of these remnants is the Mythos cyborgs, created by Doctor Gaia, who's approach towards cybernetic augmentation differs theologically from Doctor Gilmore's. While Gilmore sought to enhance and improve existing abilities and allow the cyborgs as people to determine how best to use these, Gaia thought a person's past experiences would hinder their abilities as cyborgs and so wiped the memories of each subject in his experiments, instead leading them to believe they were the Grecian pantheon of gods. The truth is eventually discovered and the Mythos cyborgs die tragically.

Interestingly enough, out of this a relationship blossoms between Jet and Albert, the former having confessed his feelings after the supposed defeat of Skull. Albert took some time to process this, trying to sort out whether he felt the same and what that meant in terms of the memory of his fiancée and his own sexuality. After they were both nearly killed fighting the Mythos cyborgs, Albert finally tells Jet he returns those feelings.

For a time after the Mythos cyborgs' defeat, the 00 cyborgs' lives are relatively peaceful, some going back to their home countries and some staying together with Doctor Gilmore. Albert is one of the ones to go home, though for a time he and Jet visit each other as often as they can between New York and Berlin. Albert works various blue-collar jobs, trucking and the like, and keeps a shabby but serviceable apartment without many creature comforts. In terms of their relationship, Jet begins to start bringing up the subject of physical intimacy between them after months of nothing much more than necking but Albert is reluctant. This leads to something of a blowout fight between the two, Jet retreating back to New York.

During this period Albert receives a call from who he thinks is Doctor Gilmore asking him to investigate some strange goings on in an old castle in the German countryside. Once there, Albert is forced to fight a robotic version of himself, a tireless juggernaut with all of the same weaponry and physical capabilities as he does. It's a long and hard battle, but Albert finally wins not through overwhelming strength, but because he had the compassion to save a falling owl's nest instead of dodging to where the robot thought he would be. The robot's brain hiccupped and Albert was able to use the opening to destroy it. Standing over the sparking mess, Albert was confronted by Doctor Gilmore, who said he'd constructed the robot to prove to Albert that he could not compete with modern technology and that he should upgrade himself into a more powerful weapon. Convinced Gilmore would never do such a thing, Albert similarly executed the Doctor, which turned out to be a robot double as well.

This brush with death and juxtaposition of his own humanity thrown in sharp relief against his double's automaton nature finally sets Albert's head straight concerning not only his life but what he wants from it, a major fixture of that being Jet. Resolved to set things right, Albert makes a pilgrimage to New York to see the younger cyborg and they hash things out.

Some time later, after several other adventures, the zero zero cyborgs uncover a plot by the Black Ghost cyborg commander Von Bagoot to utilize the giant creatures possessed of hypersonic abilities of the underground empire of Yomi to cause wars all over the world and profit from them. Two (out of five) princesses of the Yomi people, after escaping from Black Ghost and Von Bagoot's control, ask the 00 cyborgs for their aid. Albert expresses some major mistrust but Joe and many of the others don't back him up, and so the two princesses - Helen and Bina - lead the cyborgs down to Yomi. On the way they're betrayed by one of the princesses still under Von Bagoot's control and are ambushed, causing the party to be split into groups. Albert escapes with Bina after several others are captured and they make their way to Yomi in order to rescue everyone he and Bina coming to an understanding and Bina even developing feelings for the stoic cyborg, though Albert does not return them romantically. Meanwhile, the other group of their friends had been captured by another faction known as the Sa'tans who possess the ability to control minds. Albert and Joe Shimamura (009) end up fighting, Joe forcing Albert into retreat before they all hurry on to Yomi.

Unfortunately, in trying to rescue the others, Albert and Bina are captured and sentenced to be executed. Luckily the other cyborgs break free of their respective imprisonments and come to rescue the pair at the last moment, leading up to a confrontation between the heroes and Von Bagoot. Unfortunately, Von Bagoot still had possession of Doctor Gilmore and so set up a prisoner exchange; Helen and Bina for the Doctor. The exchange is made, Bina and Helen deciding for the group, and the treacherous Von Bagoot kills all five of the princesses in retaliation and begins to fight Joe, both cyborgs moving at speeds too fast for the human eye to follow.

Albert, deeply upset at the loss of Bina who he'd come to respect and care for, outwits Von Bagoot by listening to him and Joe duke it out. Albert recognizes the sound of Joe's accelerator and so he fires at the other sound, able to land the fatal blow without seeing his target.

Without much time to grieve, the resurrected Skull immediately puts his plan into action, firing a statue/space ship weapon into space in order to topple the dominoes and plunge the Earth into another world war. As Yomi crumbles around them, Ivan Whisky (001) transports the cyborgs to safety - all but Joe, whom he sends to the ship in order to stop it, leaving the rest of the group to wonder where he's been sent. Ivan explains he's trying to limit casualties, but Jet (impulsive as he is) flies off to join Joe, Albert calling after him unheeded.

The ship is stopped, Joe successful in destroying it before it could fulfill its purpose, and Jet stays with him as they both plummet back through the atmosphere as a falling star.

Canon has nothing to say officially about the gap between the series and the back story of the movie, but based on the original manga source, Ivan uses the last of his power to help Jet and Joe fall to Earth relatively safely, though the strain of falling through the atmosphere left them damaged. (See Jet's app for more information on why he looks so different!)

Jet, in a fit of ego, cuts ties with the group because of Joe's position as the leader, feeling he deserves the position, and joins the NSA. To much of the group, Albert included, this is a childish response and Albert personally has grown tired of being forced to talk Jet down from his outbursts. This time, instead of following and trying to sort it out, he lets Jet go and neither calls the other, effectively ending their relationship despite the steel deep feelings they carry for one another.

In the 27 year gap between the series and movie, Albert grows much more well-adjusted. He takes a job with the GSG-9, with is the German special ops counter-terrorism unit of the Germany Federal Police. His role at the start is more active, preventing global terrorism incidents and being able to report back to Doctor Gilmore so he and his teammates (many of which had also taken jobs in the governments of their own home countries) could keep an eye on threats. After awhile, because he refuses to upgrade his parts to more modern weaponry, Albert is mostly used as a history lesson to new recruits and even calls himself a "Cold War relic" to Pyunma (008). Joe is kept in reserve, his memories wiped and being sent to go through high school every three years.

At the start of the movie, several skyscrapers across the globe have been victims of terrorist bombings, each perpetrator claiming they had done it because "His Voice" had told them to. The cyborgs, tagging this as a major threat to the stability of the world, begin to unravel the mystery, pulling Joe back into the fold and facing threats from several sides. When a US fighter pilot under the influence of "His Voice" fires a nuclear warhead and destroys Dubai, Jet confronts his government and is informed he and the rest of the 00 cyborgs will be used as scapegoats for the event. Jet is used as a tool for "His Voice" at that point and kills the official who had planned on doing so, unaware he had been used as such until after viewing security footage from the event.

Meanwhile, a US carrier carrying a large weapons cache fires its payload in order to end humanity and start over in the name of "His Voice." Joe, Francoise, and Albert are sent to stop it, hijacking a US submarine to use its defense system. The plan nearly succeeds but misses one of the highly destructive missiles and forces Ivan to teleport Joe into space in order to detonate it before it reaches its target. Jet, already wounded through being shot by a US soldier after seeing him cut down various US officials under "His Voice"'s control, pushes through the wound and flies into space as well to help Joe.

Jet pushes himself too hard. While he's able to get Joe onto the warhead, his body gives out under the strain and Jet (again) falls from space. The last thing Albert remembers hearing when he woke up in Site B was Joe screaming Jet's name over the brainwave as he plummeted, breaking up in the atmosphere.

Though he retains all of these memories, Albert in Site B is not the original Albert Heinrich. He is a clone, fabricated to save the world from the imminent threat of the Haze, a toxin that causes people to turn into grotesque creatures stuck in their own broken psyches. Because he's a clone in this setting, he no longer had his cybernetics and Albert took great joy in that fact.

He found that Jet had been cloned as well, but because of the circumstances of their last remembered meeting, Albert pulled away immediately. Unfortunately, Jet being the only familiar face on the island, they ended up working together regardless when a mysterious ship was spotted off the coast. The investigation of said ship, spearheaded by Albert and incorporating Jet, Helen Magnus (Sanctuary), and Leonard McCoy (Star Trek AOS) was an utter failure, resulting in McCoy's death (he got better), Albert being shot and confined to a wheelchair, and the island being put under martial law. Despite this, because of the crisis, Jet and Albert make up and find solace in each other throughout the coming trials.

The clones are all put through a series of harrowing medical tests that activate something in them called their "ijiva." This activates their canon powers (in Albert's case, his cybernetic weapons) but also allows them to be directed by a "controller." Eventually the clones have had enough and overthrow the members of the group that seized the island, known as the Akademi. Some of their number being clones themselves (another cyborg, Pyunma, among them), join the original group and everyone is forced to hide in the main hub almost immediately after sending the Akademi packing thanks to a wild tropical storm. During the storm, the clones allies (the Amalhua, natives to the island) help them to find ways to activate their ijiva themselves in the form mushrooms found in a trial cavern under the hub. Jet and Albert go together, having a long conversation concerning their cybernetics and the feelings regarding having them again.

After the storm, the clones have a breather but it's not to last. The Akademi's leader, commander Sylvester Jones, threatened to return and so there became the question of the clones' own leadership and what to do after. Much to Kirk's (Star Trek AOS) chagrin, Pyunma is voted in charge, though he does not want the position. Barely days later, Malcolm Reed (Star Trek: Enterprise) is revealed as a sleeper agent and murders Kirk at the same time that Q, the clones' closest ally, is taken and twisted into his pre-clone persona of Jaden, the creator of the Haze and general giant jerkface. This being a sign that the Akademi are returning to claim the island, the clones evacuate to a new base (and airship!), known as Valhalla, that Q had set up before his effective murder and had Eugene Chaud (Mega Man Battle Network) running. Unfortunately, several of their number are captured first, Jet being among them.

After an evil recloned version of Kirk appears on the network with a brutalized Jet, Albert trades himself to Jaden for Jet's recovery and then uses his ability to activate his ijiva at will and fires the missiles from his knees to try and kill them both and himself. He manages to grievously wound Jaden and die himself only to be revived as a somnua at the direction of a livid and still living Jaden. While he maintains his human outer appearance, at his core he could now be twisted by Jaden, a task the man took great pleasure in. When Jaden had other things to attend to, Kirk takes his own twisted insanity out on Albert violently.

Finally, with some help and luck, Jet is able to rescue Albert and bring him back to the relative safety of Valhalla. By this time, Albert is nearly broken and Jet spends time nursing his partner back to physical and mental health while the rest of the 'good guys' group figured out what to do. He's much improved by the time they leave Atlanta to follow a mysterious trail of somnua to New York City.
•APPEARANCE & ABILITIES•
Standing at 5'10", Albert is a broad-shouldered man with closely cropped steel grey hair and eyes so pale blue they seem to blend into the sclera. He looks as if his frame should weigh roughly 160 lbs but he's curiously much heaver, his metal parts bringing him in at well over 250 lbs (though that may not be apparent until or unless his powers get unlocked). His face is somewhat gaunt but not unhealthily so, with pronounced cheekbones and a chiseled jawline.

Albert is a cyborg and a heavily augmented one at that. Albert is a one man arsenal. He has a machine gun in his right arm with the fingers as barrels, a combat knife he can flip out and retract at will in his left hand, and mini rockets in each knee. He’s got a brilliant tactical mind as well, able to sort out opponents next moves or theorize on what will happen next in a given scenario. Because of his predominantly mechanical body, he is resistant to most toxins, poisons, and disease and on certain areas of his body – namely the ones housing weaponry – he can feel pressure but no pain. His brain has also been enhanced. It is now equipped with a translator that can process any language so he can understand and speak it. (I would say just Earth language, but they encounter aliens and can communicate just fine so it could be more akin to the Star Trek universal translator.) He's also been augmented with a mental transmitter called a brainwave that allows communication on a variety of frequencies. Not enough to take over a broadcast but certainly to tap into open radio, and also private communication among others with the same system and/or frequency. Lastly, he possesses a heads up display that shows in his vision when targeting, allowing him to process information regarding vectors, environmental factors, and etc in a battlefield situation.

All of these modifications remain locked away unless his ijiva is activated by an effect or object and for all intents and purposes he is a normal human with military training and field experience.
•PERSONALITY•
Presentation

Albert's outward personality is heavily informed by the fact that he grew up in the 30s and 40s. There were very strong expectations for a man to be a certain way, especially considering World War II influenced his formative years. This all serves to make him taciturn. He’s not the most talkative or the most warm and cuddly person, but that doesn't mean he’s standoffish or rude. In fact, Albert simply reserves his words for when they’re most needed and keeps an eye on most things in order to keep everyone he cares for safe.

Having a tactical mind, Albert is capable of assessing combat situations quickly and adjusting himself accordingly. The same goes too for social situations. During his long life he's met a great many people with different world views and personalities. He finds it easy to slip into a mien that compliments most of these in any given situation in order to diffuse danger or impress upon someone the importance of a cause.

When interacting with others his voice is soft and deep yet carries weight enough that even when he's saying something incredibly important he never has to yell to make his point known. There's a sort of import always running as an undertone for all but the most trivial of conversations. He may come off as a bit cold and calculating at first but it's generally made clear very quickly that despite the still-waters surface, he is actually surprisingly earnest and willing to compromise to the benefit of all involved assuming that benefit does not overshadow the greater good. Physically, his posture is good and his physical movements are svelte despite his somewhat broader build. He has a classically handsome face and very noticeably piercing eyes since his irises are so light blue they appear almost white and he lacks visible pupils entirely. His face generally remains neutral at most times, expression always holding a quiet sadness behind it unless he's at an extreme (rage, despair, etc)

Motivations

After everything that's happened both in his remembered past and after he woke up as a clone in Site B, Albert's a mess internally. While he still holds the same outward presentation of himself as always, it takes a significant effort to keep that up after he's taken such a beating. He can easily become hopeless in the face of insurmountable events but he will still continue to go through the motions simply for the lack of other choice. If under this pressure for too long unchecked, Albert has a tendency to shove himself and his ideals away and simply stop caring about what happens to him.

That being said, his main source of motivation will be his friends and family. Family has always been an incredibly important part of Albert's life and (assuming they're accepted) Jet, Joe, Pyunma, and Chaud will be Albert's reasons to keep going, Jet especially. If he can keep them alive, can prevent them from being hurt or otherwise toyed with, then Albert feels he can continue.

Site B Personality questionnaire.

- How does your character feel about what he/she is doing with his or her life? Are they satisfied, or do they feel like they are waiting for something better?
By the time of the Re: Cyborg movie, Albert's come to terms with his life as a cyborg and embraced his unchosen roll as a protector of Earth. He takes solace in the fact that his augmentations, while unwanted, allow him to fight the battles that must be fought but normal people are not equipped to fight. He's found a balance between helping police the world as a member of the GSG-9 and following more personal intellectual pursuits, though he never ended up becoming a professor of music or philosophy as he'd considered in his youth. He deems the protection of the world at large as the more important goal, rightly so.
In Site B, without his cyborg parts, he may feel less able to pursue such heroic causes and therefore more likely fall into the realm of the intellectual.

- Describe a situation where this character was forced to ask for help with a task. Was he or she reluctant to seek assistance? Why?
When it comes to dangerous situations, Albert has very little issue asking for help. Tactically speaking, the more soldiers on the field, the higher chance for success against an opponent. In the series and the movie he's shown teaming up with each member of the team for specific tasks. For instance, in an episode of the series he needs greater height to hit a giant robot in the face with a knee missile. To that end, he asks Geronimo, the strongest of the team, to throw him in the air so he can get a better shot. He doesn't hesitate at all in asking this.
Emotional problems are a whole different monster. Albert, growing up in WWII Germany and then in Soviet controlled East Germany during the Cold War, has the somewhat archaic view that to show too much emotion is to show weakness. He's gotten much better about it after decades of living, but he's still a generally private person and prefers to be a rock for others going through a hard time than he does sharing his own issues. It's like prying teeth.

- Describe a situation in which the character begins a new relationship. Did s/he take the initiative? Was s/he reluctant to make a new friend/lover?
Oh hi headcanon land! lol.
Albert, in canon, had a fiancee who died in his backstory. He loved her dearly and mourned for a very long time. It took a lot of being in life-threatening situations for the cyborg group to get him to be more than superficial with them and even more for him to develop romantic feelings. He still struggles with it, but at least he's honest with himself.
Ly and I have it where Albert and Jet were in something of an on again off again relationship. When they first got together, Jet was the one to admit to having deeper feelings than just that of teammates. Albert, logical individual as he is, began to explain all the reasons why it wouldn't work. That he's much older than Jet, that he still has unresolved grief over his dead fiancee, that he'd never really thought of being with a man before, etc etc., all the while privately examining his feelings for Jet. Finally, he simply tells Jet (who thought he'd been rejected by that point with all the reasons Albert gave him on why it would be a bad idea) to be patient with him, allowing himself to open up enough to at least try with Jet.
The two have very opposing personalities though and they butt heads quite a lot, Albert often wondering what possessed him to actually give this a try, but they always oscillate back to each other because at their cores, they do care. You can't bear witness to some of the hardest struggles in someone's life and not care, after all, and so while it happens slowly, he does eventually open up and begin to trust his partner with the more intimate details.

- How does your character view the world? Do they find it pleasant or do they wish there was something else out there?
The world is what it is. Albert is a realist and tends to see things for what they are. He's a "hope for the best, prepare for the worst, and do what you can" sort of guy and often plays devil's advocate for others if they're too optimistic or pessimistic to the point of being unrealistic. He can take pleasure in the little things and doesn't sweat world events too much unless it looks like it's heading down an extra bad road. He's lived long enough to see the patterns in how humanity functions and knows things just tend to swing one way before they swing back the other. He just generally goes with the flow unless called into action by his superiors or something effects him specifically.

- Describe a situation in which your character said or did the wrong thing. Was s/he willing to admit this error? Was there a confession, or did s/he deny, deny, deny? Albert generally will apologize when called out on being wrong. He doesn't see the point in denying it just out of a sense of pride. There are certain times when he gets heated though, generally in the face of Jet's teenage arrogance, and one such fight (after a long span of time with him patiently dealing with the attitude) lead to Jet being estranged from the team for 27 years. The initial fight over leadership wasn't something Albert was involved in other than a comment that Jet was too hot-headed to lead the team in most cases, but he didn't stop Jet from leaving and cutting ties with the team, not even contacting the other cyborg himself in all that time. He told himself he was simply finished with the immature bullshit, and that was partially the case, but he let it go so long that it grew too awkward to call him up, especially when Albert still doesn't believe he did anything wrong other than not stopping Jet from leaving.
He may bring it up in Site B, as that fight is the last time he spoke to Jet directly to his memory.

- Describe a situation in which your character was given the option of forgiving another. Did s/he? What was the ultimate outcome?
He's fairly easygoing with small slights. It takes certain things to get Albert riled up, namely childishness or senseless, selfish actions. Because it takes so much for him to get legitimately angry enough to need to forgive someone later he isn't given the opportunity often. The biggest slight in canon that he's forgiven would have to be Doctor Gilmore, who masterminded the process that turned him into a cyborg in the first place. Albert harbored a grudge until it became clear that Gilmore had been tricked by the Black Ghost organization and really just wanted to make humanity better through his cybernetics. When Gilmore came up with the plan to allow all of the zero zero cyborgs to escape was when Albert finally forgave the ageing Doctor. After that, they grew into being more like family.

- Describe how your character would thank another. Does s/he jump on the opportunity?
Albert gives thanks where it's due, though if the action requiring thanks was grudging then the gratitude will be equally so. Bina did quite a bit to help the cyborgs when they came under fire while traveling to the Yomi kingdom, and while Albert still didn't trust her at the time he thanked her anyway, recognizing the effort she put into helping them despite his ire and mistrust.

- Describe a situation in which your character is exposed to another character who is in bad spirits. Did s/he try to cheer them up? Did s/he leave them alone?
Generally speaking Albert isn't usually the best at morale, that tends to fall to Francoise, Chang, or GB, but if a teammate is in a position where he can say something helpful, he won't hesitate to do so.
Pyunma, due to major injury, had to have much of his body rebuilt cybernetically and was having a hard time with it. Albert, being the member of the team with the most cybernetic parts, felt he was in a good place to understand Pyunma's feelings and help his fellow cyborg work through them, so he went out of his way to speak to Pyunma and help him feel better about his conversion.

- Is your character well-acquainted with his or her own motivations? Do others perceive his or her motivations the same way?
For being somewhat stoic, Albert is surprisingly in touch with how and why he feels the way he does and what actions he'll take accordingly for the most part. It's very obvious in the way he acts, and so the team generally believes he knows what he's doing even when he's not certain. There is a small percentage of the time, though, when even Albert will question why he did something. The best example is when Jet gets shot down while the Dolphin is in hiding. Even though Pyunma was in the water and could retrieve the wounded cyborg easily, Albert still surfaced the Dolphin in a bit of a panic to get him, ultimately causing the ship to get captured completely unnecessarily. At the time, he really had no idea why he made such a bad call (and it's never explained in canon).

- Describe a situation where your character deliberately hurt someone or destroyed property that does not belong to them. What was their justification? Are they stricken by remorse?
He does this several times, but each time is always because the initial aggressor hurt or even killed someone he cared about or was threatening to do so. The best example is Von Bagoot. After the man murdered Bina and the other Yomi princesses, Albert managed to basically execute him despite not having the ability to track the other cyborg with his eyes, and shows absolutely no remorse for the revenge. When Albert means business, he means business.

- Describe the five foods that mainly comprise your character's diet.
Albert generally will eat a large breakfast and a decent dinner but more often than not skip lunch. Breakfast nearly always consists of coffee and some kind of sausage, sometimes with potatoes (hashbrowns or skillet). Dinner depends on who's cooking (the team eats a lot of Chinese food thanks to Chang) but when left to his own devices it's usually a simple meal with some sort of green vegetable, more potatoes, and meat of some kind and is generally accompanied with a beer (or wine if the meat is steak).
He really likes potatoes.

- Describe your character's religious beliefs.
In general Albert doesn't have any strong religious affiliation. Communist East Germany was pretty nonreligious and before that the Nazi regime promoted loyalty to the state and the Fuhrer instead of to God. Even so, Albert believes in God in general terms, but more in the philosophical idea that human beings as a species created the concept of God in an effort to explain the world around them, and to explain why people do bad or good things. He's begun to question that belief just a little during the course of the movie, but still holds people accountable for their own actions, not a higher power.

- Has your character ever made a decision that benefited them for the moment but had severe or even dangerous repercussions in the long run? If not, has your character ever made a decision that would benefit them in the long run but brought them anguish or even misery in the interim?
The decision to make a run for West Berlin through the Wall was definitely one that he was aware could have terrible repercussions if they failed, which is sadly what did happen, though he was not aware of just how badly it would turn out. True, he knew they could both die, but he'd obviously never even dreamed that he would be dragged from the wreckage and turned into a cyborg. Even so, I imagine Albert and Hilda weighed the options together very carefully before going through with the plan, even if in hindsight Albert wishes they had never made the attempt.

- Does your character feel that s/he is the most important person in someone else's life? If yes: is the person male or female? How does your character know s/he is the most important?
Warning: Incoming headcanon.
Given that his social circle is mainly kept to the cyborg team and Doctor Gilmore, Albert sees his relationship with Jet as them placing each other at a somewhat higher level of importance to each other than the others, though not to the detriment of any mission or their colleagues' lives. This is confirmed for Albert simply in the observation that any actions from him can have such an immediate and profound effect on Jet's moods and sometimes behavior, the German usually able to handle the other cyborg's outbursts with a manner of patience that eventually helps Jet to calm down. The level to which Jet trusts him is also a major factor, as he's aware the American doesn't trust easily or lightly.
There are times when Albert does doubt his importance to Jet; when the latter goes flying off after Joe, ready to die without so much as a look to Albert, and when Jet loses his temper and distances himself from the whole team, but outside of those events (which are, admittedly, huge) Albert never questions his importance to his partner.

- Describe a situation in which the character accomplished something very difficult or with the odds stacked against them. What was their initial reaction? Were they prone to bragging or did they humbly and quietly enjoy their success?
When Albert has to push himself against all odds, it's usually in an extremely bittersweet circumstance and even if it is a victory, it tends not to feel like one so he neither brags nor enjoys his success. The best examples I can give are killing Von Bagoot and fighting the minotaur mythos cyborg. In the latter battle, he and Jet do finally defeat the minotaur, but at the price of getting incredibly injured, Albert even needing to have a part or two replaced.
For anything less serious, such as finally being able to play a piece of piano music he hadn't been able to since he got his cybernetic hands, Albert is much more likely to quietly enjoy the achievement than mention it to anyone.

- Please tell us a joke that your character has made while trapped in a gloomy or hopeless situation.
After defeating the minotaur, Albert turned to Jet and wryly expressed his desire to never do that again. His sense of humor tends to be sardonic like that a lot.

- Describe a situation in which your character described his or her feelings to another character. Was your character reluctant or more than happy to get things off his/her mind?
Getting Albert to express his feelings is about as easy as getting an octopus to roller skate. He will if he believes that the view will help the other person be more at peace with their own situation though. A specific instance is the situation with Pyunma as I described before in this app. While usually tight lipped about his feelings, Albert approaches the struggling Pyunma and attempts to help him regain some peace of mind in regards to his upgrades, citing that Gilmore just wanted to protect him the best that he knows how, and that with their abilities they're the only ones who even stand a chance to defeating Black Ghost, so while it's difficult to handle, Albert says directly that he takes solace in the fact that their cybernetics allow them this ability.
He walks off immediately after telling Pyunma all this, not even really waiting for a response, which I take to mean he was uncomfortable having revealed so much about how he feels that he felt the need to retreat and regroup. In short, Albert is generally reluctant to share his feelings, but will do so of his own volition if he deems it necessary in a given situation.
